Advanced training
Advanced training
train2eupilgrimage
a new training standard for international pilgrimages
train2EUPilgrimage develops a standardised international education scheme with advanced training courses for pilgrim guides realized in three Intellectual Outputs (IOs):
The successful completion of the so-called advanced training enables pilgrim guides to guide groups beyond regional and national borders and allow them to competently and sympathetically guide them, helping to develop intellectually and spiritually. They will get practice and knowledge in new topics, which have not been available yet, such as improving softs skills (e.g. how to take care of persons with handicaps or elderly people), digital competences (knowledge of walking with mobile apps and how to develop and use best practice videos) or linguistic competences (pilgrim tours in foreign speaking countries).
To whom the project is addressing
Target groups for the training are educators, pilgrim and tour guides, hiking guides, escorts and already certified pilgrim guides, according to the referring situation in the partner countries.
Participants will also be able to learn from other cultures and values (mutual learning). During the project a sustainable network will be set up and allow a future international collaboration. Furthermore, consciousness for pilgrimage as a sustainable and educative form of travelling is enhanced.
Project's priorities
The project covers three important priorities, firstly the development of an advanced curriculum to allow transparency and recognition of skills and qualifications of pilgrim guides in the project countries, secondly to extend and develop the competences of educators who support adult learners including the effective use of digital technologies to improve the learning experience and thirdly a strong contribution to European cultural heritage.
Phases of implementation
The curriculum was developed in English and can already be used to upset trainings.
Translations to further languages are foreseen in the near future.
